Experiments were conducted employing fresh-frozen human cadaveric temporal bones as the sample material. Within a controlled setup, the experimental evaluation of preloads across various directional orientations was conducted by simulating anatomical variances and post-operative positional modifications. Three PORP design variations, including a fixed shaft or a ball joint, and a Bell-type or Clip-interface, were subject to assessment procedures. Subsequently, the total effect of medial preloads and the stapedial muscle's tensile forces was analyzed. Employing laser-Doppler vibrometry, the METF was ascertained for each measurement condition.

We proposed a relationship between subregional 3-dimensional (3D) strain patterns within rotator cuff tendons and the anatomical placement of the supraspinatus (SSP) and infraspinatus (ISP) tendon insertions, suggesting an effect on strain and, consequently, tension transmission. Eight fresh-frozen cadaveric shoulders, all intact, had their supraspinatus (SSP) and infraspinatus (ISP) tendon bursal-side 3D strains measured through the application of tension on their entire SSP and ISP muscles, and their distinct subdivisions, with an MTS system. Compared to the posterior region, the anterior SSP tendon region displayed elevated strains, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) observed under whole-SSP anterior region and whole-SSP muscle loading conditions. The inferior half of the ISP tendon exhibited greater strain under whole-ISP muscle loading, as well as in the middle and superior subregions (p<0.005, p<0.001, and p<0.005, respectively). Tension arising from the posterior region of the SSP was mainly transmitted to the middle facet by the overlapping attachments of the SSP and ISP tendons, in contrast to the anterior region, which predominantly transferred its tension to the superior facet.
